Things to Do in Santorini
The best things to do in Santorini, from Oia and the Fira-to-Oia walk to Akrotiri, volcano cruises, beaches, wineries and villages.
Read guide →Use time well
The goal of a Santorini itinerary is not to maximise stops. It is to minimise backtracking while giving each part of the island enough time.
Base yourself around Fira and Imerovigli for the morning, choose either Akrotiri or a caldera cruise for the main activity, and finish in Oia only if you are comfortable with sunset crowds.
Day one: Fira, Imerovigli and Oia. Day two: Akrotiri, Megalochori or Pyrgos, plus a south/east beach.
Add either the full Fira-to-Oia walk or a caldera boat day. This is the point at which the trip begins to feel balanced rather than compressed.
Keep the three-day structure and use the extra day for a slow beach day, winery route or Thirasia rather than adding six more photo stops.
Consider a split base, a deeper wine-and-food day, a second archaeological site, or an island-hopping extension.

Check current ferry departures, journey times and prices before committing to accommodation or onward transport.
Fira is the main bus hub. Seasonal timetables change, so use the operator’s current timetable rather than an old screenshot.
